Nancy R. Becker is a senior healthcare executive with over 25 years of experience in operations, client relations, marketing and strategic positioning of clinical services.

Becker’s background includes serving as Regional General Manager at MedTel International, Vice President of Strategic Development at St. Thomas Health Services and Vice President of Saint Thomas Heart Institute. Most recently, Becker was the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Client Relations at SpecialtyCare.

Above and beyond Becker’s professional experience, she served as the Board Chair for CWJC – a Nashville-based non-profit mentoring program serving indigent women; and was a former member of the Nashville Economic Development Committee.

Becker began her healthcare career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She completed Tenacity, Inc.’s Clients for Life training as a Client Retention Executive and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Management from Ottawa University.

Chief Financial Officer

Rudy Blank brings an extensive background in healthcare executive leadership to Urgent Team. His leadership spans multiple disciplines in a variety of healthcare and non-healthcare related settings.

Most recently Blank served as the Chief Development Officer for Complete Care, an operator of freestanding ER’s and urgent care facilities in Texas and Colorado. Previously, he served in both the Chief Strategy and Development Officer and CFO roles for Centerre Healthcare, a private equity backed operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, prior to the sale of the company to Kindred Healthcare (NYSE:KND).

Blank began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen and then KPMG. He worked sequentially for two international companies: Franke, a manufacturer of residential kitchen systems, coffee systems, and products for the food service industry; and SIT Group, a manufacturer of safety systems for gas appliances and equipment. Before entering the healthcare sector, Rudy was Controller for Video Gaming Technologies, recognized in 2005 by Inc. Magazine as the fastest growing privately held company.

Blank is a CPA (inactive) and a member of various healthcare and financial organizations. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Tennessee Tech University.

Matthew Browning, M.D.

His medical expertise, comforting demeanor with patients, and operations experience makes him an ideal leader to oversee more than 60 urgent care practices in five states.

With a strong commitment to a patient-first approach, Dr. Browning understands every patient deserves quality care. His vision for providing quality and affordable family and urgent care is a primary reason he aligned his hometown practice in Springfield, Tennessee with Urgent Team in 2013. In addition to having served on numerous hospital and medical committees throughout middle Tennessee, he has been voted Roberson County’s “Best Family Physician” for six years and counting.

Dr. Browning graduated cum laude from Samford University and completed his medical education at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He accomplished both his residency (family medicine) and his fellowship (advanced women’s care) at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Browning is board certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

With a heart for philanthropy, he gives much of his free time to serve on international medical mission trips in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, as well as domestically in remote areas with limited medical support.

Tom Dent has spent his career in health care delivery innovation, developing better value and pathways for people to access care when and where they need it. He has been involved in a variety of healthcare sectors including managing hospitals, outpatient services and leading national and international companies.

As a healthcare leader, he has earned an industry reputation for building quality teams and companies with a focus on outcomes and service value and understanding the needs of patients in a complex and changing medical environment. He has developed and managed numerous health system partnerships and ventures to improve the integration of the healthcare service continuum.

In addition to his Urgent Team leadership, Tom is the lead Director of Healthstream, a provider of online training, education and research to healthcare organizations; and is the Chairman and Co-Founder of London based Re:Cognition Health, Ltd., a global leader in clinical drug trials for Alzheimer’s Disease and a leading global provider for patients with cognitive disorders. Dent was awarded the Lang Buisson 2013 UK Healthcare Entrepreneur Achievement Award.

Previously, Dent was CEO of an international diagnostic imaging and outpatient surgery company, and prior to this, was a co-founder and 15 year leader of PhyCor, Inc., the recognized pioneer in the physician practice and physician network management sector. Over his career he has developed occupational health clinics, mobile imaging services and managed hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Earlier in his career he worked in mergers/acquisitions at Hospital Corporation of America and was a founding board member of the healthcare REIT, Healthcare Realty Trust.

Dent graduated with a bachelor’s business degree from Mississippi State University and holds a master’s degree from The George Washington University.

Mike Dupuis brings over 30 years of experience directing cross-sector business operations over 14 states including for-profits, health systems, health & wellness facilities and community-based organizations. He was recognized as an industry leader earning “Top Ten” resort training complex in the United States and the Medical Fitness Association’s “Director of the Year.” Dupuis spent 10 years on the board of the Medical Fitness Association, Richmond VA., where he served as Chairman and President, Sec/Treasurer, and Executive Committee Member. He is also one of 20 Nationally Certified Lead Inspectors for the coveted MFA Facility Certification. He was awarded a Fellowship from the Association in 2012.

Over and above his extensive professional experience, Dupuis was elected to the Board of Directors for the city of El Dorado, AR. Chamber of Commerce where he served as Chairman of the Board. He has also volunteered as an assistant coach for the Boys & Girls Club, Upward Bound, Don Roberts Elementary School and the Little Rock Junior Deputy baseball league.

He received his master’s degree in Management and Administration from the University of Maryland and his bachelor’s degree in Education from New England College, Henniker, N.H. and was Licensed K-12 by the state of New Hampshire. He was also a 4-year college athlete, captain, and Student Director of Intramurals. He received a certification in Computer Science from New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, New Hampshire.

Prior to joining Urgent Team, House served as Director of Physician Practice Services/Physician Recruitment at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, TN, where he was responsible for providing multi-clinic operational and financial leadership for 36 hospital-employed providers. He has also held executive positions at the Center for Oral, Facial and Implant Surgery in Chattanooga, TN; Mississippi Urology Clinic and Outpatient Surgery Center in Jackson, MS; Health Management Associates in Franklin, TN; and Women’s Specialty Center in Jackson, MS.

House earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville TN, and a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Physiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Steven Nix has extensive experience in corporate healthcare development and business finance. He has spent the last decade helping grow the Urgent Team Family of Urgent Care & Walk-in Centers through multiple acquisitions and the development of new brands across the company’s footprint. He has an astute ability to identify underserved markets and realize the potential for new urgent care locations in existing and growing markets. During his tenure, Nix has served in various management roles including finance, investor relations, and corporate development. Prior to joining Urgent, he worked in corporate banking with Regions Bank.

Nix holds a bachelor’s degree in managerial finance from the University of Mississippi, and a master’s degree of business administration from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management. He lives in Brentwood, TN with his wife and three dogs.

John W. Reel has more than 16 years of healthcare experience in finance, operations, implementation, and strategic planning. He has served across many diverse healthcare service lines including outpatient surgery centers, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, and outpatient rehabilitation services. Reel’s experience includes joint venture partnerships with both short-term acute care hospitals and physician partnerships. Prior to joining Urgent Team in 2017, he served as Chief Executive Officer for the Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington, a Kindred Healthcare/Texas Health Resources/Methodist Health System joint venture, where he opened and operated the hospital.

Reel is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tennessee Tech University. He also earned a master’s degree in Accounting from Belmont University, where he is currently an adjunct accounting instructor.

Colleen Shanahan has spent her legal career in executive roles in the healthcare field advising and representing clients and providing corporate legal, regulatory and compliance services in a variety of health sectors including managed care, diagnostic, pharmaceutical and outpatient services companies. She leads Urgent Team’s legal activities, as well as the Information Privacy and Security Management program and the Corporate Integrity program.

Prior to joining Urgent Team, Shanahan served as Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer for a diagnostic imaging company, and was VP, Corporate Integrity Officer for PhyCor, Inc., a physician practice and physician network management company. Additionally, she was lead operational and development counsel for the company’s IPA management service company, responsible for negotiating joint venture contracts, including the joint venture with New York and Presbyterian Hospitals Care Network.

Earlier in her legal career, she served as Regulatory Counsel for HealthAmerica Corporation, a publicly traded HMO company and a pioneer in managed care operations.

Shanahan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Creighton University in Nebraska.

Amy Thomas is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with more than 20 years’ experience leading strategic and results-driven marketing, communication and branding strategies for both healthcare and consumer sectors.

She oversees the creative and execution strategy for marketing and advertising for Urgent Team’s family of brands, as well as community and media relations. Thomas is skilled at leveraging social and digital strategies to drive customer awareness and volume. Additional expertise includes developing brand integration with health system joint ventures and providing marketing intel regarding the acquisition and de novo planning.

Prior to joining Urgent Team in 2015, Thomas served as senior communications manager with Community Health Systems for 12 years. CHS, one of the nation’s leading operator of hospitals, serves many non-urban markets similar to Urgent Team.

Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a master’s degree in healthcare management from Lipscomb University in Nashville, graduating Delta Mu Delta. She is a member of the Nashville Healthcare Council and the Urgent Care Association of America.
